First ever LiveJournal User-Representative Election
PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU VOTE!!!

Eligibility
Those eligible to vote in this poll are:
-Users with accounts created before March 11, 2008
-Users who are not using Cyrillic language services (there is a poll for Cyrillic users at lj_election_ru)
-Users who have accounts with validated email addresses

Voting
Users should select their first choice, second choice, and third choice candidates from the drop-down list.

Determining the winner
The poll will be closed at 9:00 p.m. PDT Thursday, May 29, 2008
-If a user has more than 50% of the first-choice vote, that candidate will be declared the winner
-If no user has more than 50% of the first-choice vote, we will begin using an Instant Runoff process. The user with the lowest tally for first-choice vote will be eliminated, and the second choice candidate on those ballots will be substituted as first choice. This process will continue (drop lowest candidate, reassign to next vote, tally again) until any user has more than 50% of the vote.
-If all ballots are exhausted and no candidate has more than 50% of the vote, we will return to the first round and award the election to the candidate with the most 1st choice votes.

Member Term
The new Advisory Board member will be announced by the end of the day on Friday, May 30, 2008 and will begin their one-year term of service on June 1, 2008.

THANK YOU!

As I said in a comment in my own LJ: "It's all a farce anyway. We both know that SUP's people will nod and smile and then do what the fuck they planned to all along. The only dif might be that now they will someone to show them where the tripwires are set."

I manage my aggression quite well, thank you. This whole election woo-hah is an exercise in directed anger. The shit I'm really angry about is a bit bigger; Iraq, the economy, Bu$hCo, and so on. I can safely download that into this and then keep on with what I'm doing otherwise.

And if you shit on my carpet, I'll shoot you, too. [Hint: it's a metaphor]

Typical cherry picking, btw, very Rovian. That post is down past a link to Brad Hicks dissing Ayn Rand, a book review on woman's economics, and a piece of flash fiction I wrote.

Jameth and his crew are aimless post-modernest amateurs, no real focus and easy pickings for Cool Hunter marketers. My paradigm is a bit more ambitious than theirs.

So, so true.

I can safely download that into this and then keep on with what I'm doing otherwise.

Makes complete sense. I'm doing a bit of the same actually. Feels very passive aggressive on my own end, but strangely satisfying.

In that vein, I'm not spending a lot of time researching anything other than the election, so while my selective viewing could be construed as Rovian, it was more just me being lazy. Rove is a genius - it's sad he uses his powers for evil rather than good - and I am definitely not a genius.

Jameth is smart and a force to be reckoned with. He knows how to effectively maintain and leverage a large group of people to not only do his bidding, but enjoy doing it too. It's somewhat fascinating to watch, if not a bit disconcerting at the same time. I've also come to believe that while there are quite a few annoying and mindless hacks, he's got some good people as well.

I'm sorry about the herbal tea giving you a sour stomach, I can't handle the caffeine and other stimulants in coffee (even though I absolutely love the taste).

Good luck to you sir!

Feels very passive aggressive on my own end, but strangely satisfying.

You are probably suffering from what is a fairly common syndrome these days: Outrage Fatigue. The endless monstrousness of the last eight years have simply overloaded those of us who Pay Attention. And so, being humans, Someone Must Pay.

In my case, Jameth and his crew won that election right out of the gate and entirely through their own efforts. lol

He is smart, but I do not think he can focus this particular group, or at least not most of them, on anything beyond these semi-salon 'lulz' ops.

If he got truly serious about something, he could do Great Things, but I suspect many of his present group would drop away, though he seems charismatic enough to replace them.

And thank you, sir!
